"I've been contacted by folks who are not fly fishers who stumbled onto FAOL because of my  articles on where I grew up.
One has put together a free  website for people who grew up in Rogers City, MI.
Turns out his aunt and uncle were neighbors of my grandparents on the same street."
(Deanna Lee Birkholm "Ladyfisher"
Publisher of Fly Anglers Online)

That quote pretty well defines what this site is about, although   it's really not
limited to Rogers City.
I contacted Ladyfisher in early February 2005, asked if I could link to FAOL and also
asked her how she was connected to Rogers City.
As it turns out, Deanna used to visit her grandparents here and has obviously never
forgotten her summer visits.
This particular article dealt with the Rogers City 4th of July celebration and the little
band shell by the Courthouse.
You can go to click on Ladyfisher - then do a
search for Rogers City

Also, there is an interesting guest article by Tom Deschaine - Jul 16, 2012.
The story is about about Clarence Roberts, a Conservation Officer,
who was originally from Onaway .

We actually hope to accomplish several things with this website.
#1. on that list is to promote this area.
#2. is to collect some history stories from days gone by.

In regards to #2; Since I originally started this site, I have had the opportunity to build
several websites for the Presque Isle County Historical Museum and I also attempt to maintain a
facebook site called Rogers City Remembered.

If you have any stories, or know of any web sites relating to this area, please pass
 them on to us.
